Candidate presentation for the Assistant Professor of Kanaka Maoli Visual Art position in the Department of Art and Art History. This event is open to the public. Kaili Chun was born on O驶ahu, raised in Ka虅ne驶ohe and now resides in Nu驶uanu. She has a AB (Bachelor of Arts) degree in Architecture from Princeton University and an MFA from University of Hawai驶i at Ma虅noa. Additionally, she was an apprentice to master canoe builder and woodworker Wright Elemakule Bowman, Sr. Chun is a sculptor and installation artist who uses processes and materials that transform physical spaces into unique environments which comment on contemporary issues. kailichun.org
